Both of these are on Wiser's under-RM150 list, and both have proper active noise cancelling. The Edifier costs RM60 more. That RM60 buys multipoint, a newer Bluetooth version, better water resistance and 11 more hours of battery. Whether that is worth it depends on what you do all day.
The RM60 question
Both pairs cancel noise properly. Xiaomi quotes up to 40 dB of cancellation; Edifier does not publish a figure but pairs its ANC with multipoint, which the Redmi lacks entirely. Everything else that separates them is small on paper and big in daily use.
Multipoint. The Edifier stays connected to two devices and switches when one plays. The Redmi connects to one. If you take calls on a laptop and music on a phone, this alone settles it.
Battery. 49 hours against 38 hours in the case, 13 against 7 in the buds. Both get through a work day; the Edifier gets through a weekend without the case.
Water resistance. IP55 against IP54. Both survive sweat and rain; the Edifier’s better jet resistance matters only if you rinse them under a tap.
Codec. The Redmi has AAC, which iPhones prefer; the Edifier is SBC only. On Android at this price you will not hear the difference. On an iPhone, the Redmi has a slight edge in theory.
Bluetooth 6.0 vs 5.3. Not a reason to choose today. Bluetooth 6.0 features need a 6.0 phone to matter, and most Malaysians are not carrying one yet.
Price watch
The Edifier is RM149 on the brand’s store today, down from RM169, and Lowyat.NET reported a Shopee-exclusive RM139 in September that Wiser could not confirm on the page. The Redmi has held at RM89 or lower at retailers all month against a RM129 list price. Neither needs a sale day; both are already at the price to buy.
